Ok, my drosera glanduligera questions are: How big does it get? Can it be self polinated? How long can it be kept alive? What should I feed it? My pygmy sundew questions are: How deep/tall of a pot should be used? How long do most of them live? what are some of the bigger pygmies? what are some of the faster pygmies? Thanks, Devon Blomquist

oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm doing hot stratification and my drosera glanduligera seeds. It cools down at night, is cooling at night okay or should I try harder to keep it warm?

ok, thanks. But I don't think they mentioned how deep of a pot pygmies need and if it is okay for hot strat to cool down at night.

Hi Devon,
You don't need a huge pot for Pygmies. Also for hot stratification, do your best to keep the temperature constant and it would be best if it doesn't cool down at night. Use a heatmat or something.

I find the hybrid pygmies can be in real shallow containers, even an inch or two (pygmaea, too). The species ones I have in standard plastic pots, maybe 3,4" deep with no problem. Of course, they might do better in deeper pots.

thanks everyone! I think that's all the info I need! Hacker, I have a heat mat under the pot but it isn't quite strong enought and doesn't heat the top of the pot.

In South Australia glanduligera is considered to more closely related to tuberous sundew than the pygmies. It is a winter growing annual or maybe biannual if it does not flower. It prefer larger pots. It does self pollinate. Ray Nash in the '80 did report in the old B&W ICPS bullentins and in the very early APCS bulletins that glanduligera does produce a small tuber if it does not flower.

thanks a lot! uuummm, I have the seeds in a small pot right now, sooo... what do I do? How should I transplant them? That's great that it self polinates, I would like to get more and more seeds. I like drosera glanduligera a lot...I wish it was bigger though. Thanks, Devon Blomquist

It will be few more months before the plants here set seed. They haven't even germinate out in the wild yet.
