Is this plant worth the efforts? Considering it is an annual, I`m a little skeptical in getting some. Does it self seed? Well, reading past threads will answer that one, i`m just looking for personal opinions. Thanks Steven

If grown right it'll make lots of seeds all by itself. It is a very pretty little plant (and not as small as most sundews, mine got to be about 4-5" tall maybe more) It is not necessarily doomed at the end of 6 months either.
Now for the editorialising... for some reason B.liniflora was the FUSSIEST damn thing I have ever grown. I tried it from seed a few times and they died from damp-off within days of sprouting.
I finally got a ton of seeds from an uncommon member here and had success starting them under a little dome outside in a very loose, wet mix (mostly perlite and vermiculite with some peat moss) They grew great all summer- I moved them back into my windowsill where they were about 5 feet away from their location outside, same light, window open so same circulation and everything and they all died within a week.
IF you're going to try them, I would suggest trying to keep their conditions as stable as possible, try to not even move them around too much. Again they truly are pretty (especially when flowering) but too many headaches for me.
(and as a footnote one member here who is possibly the most skilled among us has only seen the species in real life at my house during my sole successful run, something I am kinda proud of in a stupid way)

Hi Blokeman. I have never grown it, but you can get it from Rick Keehn if you like. Rick told me that the stupid thing is like a weed, that it will outgrow a terrarium quickly. It will last for up to two years in a terrarium. But that is Rick Keehn speaking- he has his own greenhouse and labratory!

I tried growing a few by seed...but then I let the soil dry out... But a few weeks later one little one popped up! I have it in a mix of peat/perlite and it is in a mini green house thing...a little bit like a terrarium. I probly should have done a mix of peat/silica sand but it's too late now. So for me, the byblis is doing great. Good luck!

Well I am glad others chimed in here, I didn't mean to say bad things about poor Byblis. A terrarium properly lit should perform much better than my "technique"
