Hello! I was wondering if it would be possible to do window dormancy with these sarrs: purpurea, purpurea x flava, and judith hindle. Would that work? And how big would a pot have to be if I were to plant all of these sarrs together in one pot? Thanks, Devon Blomquist

I've done indoor dormancy with Sarr's and sundews. It's annoying and not as good as in the fridge or outside but you CAN do it.

I have a bunch of sarrs on a basement windowsill that's been blocked in with a piece of styrofoam. Stays about 2-5C during the winter. I'll know in a few weeks if it was successful ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

You could try to give them a dormancy in a box in your fridge ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) i did that, and my sarrs survived fine ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) For this did you take them out of their pots, or did you leave them in their pots and then put them in the box?

I just stuck mine in the basement in a completely dark closet ~12C all winter. Everything went into dormancy and came out fine but I had to watch them all winter to avoid drying out. Also they weren't hardened off enough and had some die-back from a cool spring when they went outside.
