Last Minute Questions

So I am new to this forum and am VERY interested in VFTs. I have been researching them for a LONG time and I know how to take care of them. Really, I would just like your input on how I intend to take care of them. My local greenhouses (wal-mart, home depot etc.) either don't sell them or they seem in pretty bad condition(look blackish, very droopy etc). So i have resorted to an online store that sells flytraps. I have not seen many people who have done this but the site looks promising. I am interested in the first buying option(maybe 2 of them so I would have 6 flytraps?) but I was looking and I saw that the second option was basically the same thing except cheaper. I saw that each flytrap was in a separate pot in the first option while in the second one, they were all crowded together. Also, I saw that the first option included a dome while the second one didn't. I intend to switch the flytraps over to a terrarium when I receive them because the humidity around here can be VERY low. So considering the fact that I'll be switching the plants over immediately, would it be all right to just do the second option?

I am pretty bad at visualizing things in my head but I imagine the 8.5" x 14.5" would be OK for 6 flytraps. Depending on the weather conditions, I may or may not leave the top panel open. Any feedback on anything I wrote would seriously be appreciated!

Hi Venus and welcome to the forum! The link you provided will do but if you are in Canada, check out kheenscarnivores.com or you can ask around the forum who sells if they have extra plants. Most of the growers just keep their vfts outside and don't keep them in terrariums. The members here can give you detailed explanations regarding their own technique with regards to their caring and propagation of these lovely plants.

Thanks a lot for the link though it appears they have temporarily stopped selling plants. I actually don't live in Canada(which may seem kinda dumb considering the name of the forum...) but I do live in the US(maryland to be exact.) I have considered putting my flytraps outside but I have a friend in my area who did that and with the variouse squirrels, birds, and kids that constantly bothered it in our nieghborhood, the plants started expiriencing stress(i assume) and started dying. After a few days on my friend's window sill, the Venus Flytrap made a pretty good recovery but still looks pretty ragged.

If you live in the states , You should try Carnivorous Plant Nursery. He is in Maryland also and he has alot of VFT cultivars. I recommend it!

There's a state park/CP conservatory not far from Maryland that sells CP's. Worth taking a trip to. I forget the name but I'm sure you could google it.

Alright, so a change in plans...a BIG change in plans. Looking at the website, I saw that they have practically everything I need to grow a VFT. They have a terrarium bowl, a CP soil mixture, and of course Vens flytraps! So I figured I'd be saving some money just from getting everything from there. The terrarium bowl is one gallon and 7" x 7.5" and i am getting three flytraps (two medium and one small.) I'm assuming this would provide enough space but like i said before, I can't really visualize stuff like that.
