Rick Hillard in his kindness gave me two baby Venus Fly Trap (along with one sundew and two gemmae) and the babies both died back- no green to be seen. So, I took one of the babies out and looked at the rhizome and root, they were fine. (I could have sworn I heard this tiny scream as I did so) I left the poor thing out of the terrarium long enough for the root to dry out. I thought- what the hey- and planted it back into the terraium. The problem turned out just to be transplant shock. And yesterday, I saw the first green shoots from both the babies. Amazing!
