Hehe, I'm not sure mine was from Colisanti's actually! It just says "Bloom-Rite" and "Nurseryman's Exchange".
But yes, all I've ever seen from Colisanti's is typical...

I hope that you new Flytrap is not one of those grown by a production nursery that forces them past their dormant period. I got one of those from Sheridan a month ago, and am watching it die a slow death.

Hmm, I think it's probably just out of TC.. But if it dies it dies.. there's not too much I can do about it.

Tael, the vft that you got is looking fine and growing. If it skipped dormancy, you should see that it's not happy. I think it's just out of TC.

canadaone what type of conditions are you giving your VFT? if it was from a big production company it is probably just out of TC and would not need a real Dormancy this year, it could be that your plant is going through Shock from being in a new home, or if its cold it could be going dormant. ive got a couple VFT's from Colasantis (a big production company) and diddnt give them a dormency and they are doing great nice and red, vigorous growth Fast trap action. but when i brought them home at first they lost quite a few traps due to the shock.

Well just let me say this! I am friends with Colasanti and there is no definate answer on the Cultivar you have gotten! Reason being that he imorts "TONS" of them from all around the world, many different countries and companies and they all get labelled as just VFTs. That being said, it is really just a guess as to what it is exactly. At any given time he may have about 20,000 to 50,000 vfts at his facility and trust me when I say he has tons of them!!!!!!!!! I always go to his place to have a look see what new stuff he has! Its cool to see that many vfts at once and there are so many different cv there at one time (and not properly named) that its amazing! It would be too time consuming for him to label each cultivar (besides only true cp lovers would really even know there are different cvs, or care) When it all comes down to it, they have to be potted and sold asap! So much product is moved it would be near impossible! So its just a guess and you will never know for sure.

Rymah: The terrarium has a layer of perlite on the bottom, and the soil is half peat with NO fertilizer in it and half perlite. It is always wet, never mushy. It has florescent lighting. I water it with melted snow or rainwater only once every eight days. It has lighting from 7 am to 10 pm. I pulled a little flytrap baby out and found the rhizome is white, hard, not mushy. The roots are black, not mushy. I have a small Neph and three gemmae growing happily in there. Still, I am watching my flytrap die. What am I doing wrong???
