Im looking for some easier ways to feed VFT that still has a good food value and has a really easy deliver method.
I currently use fish pellets but its hard since they dont keep trigger the hairs. I usally close the trap with a toothpick while dropping a pellet in however .... sometimes its hard and I just want an easier way to feed traps of small and large sizes.
Any suggestions on sure ways to feed traps effectively with good food?

Hi I am just a lowly seed here, but any well stocked pet store will have dried insects for the purpose of feeding lizards. You can also get wingless fruitflies from some pet stores or small crickets.

The best food for vfts are live insects as they trigger the traps naturally and the struggle actually stimulates the trap to shut tighter and tighter. You can try foliar feeding.

You can also get live bugs from pet shops, they sell special 'bug' handling foreceps for feeding. I have seen these and the bugs such as tiny crickets, and small flies at Pet stores.

If you don't have access to the live bugs, I've put freeze dried blood worms in the trap and gentley squeeze each side together to trigger the traps, then do it a bunch of times again in 30 secs or so so they will stay shut and have supper. Works for me when no live bugs are around.

just smack a fly on window to stun (use a rolled up paper...but not too stiff and you want to stun not squish) ...pick up fly with tweezers via a wing...drop into VFT trap of suitable size (twice size of fly)...pull tweezers out fast so VFT not damaged when trap shuts..that's what I do....when a fly is heard buzzing on window....moo ha ha...

I have fed my traps with live bugs by using tweezers as well, and dropping the bug into the trap. This has worked well with small beetles/bugs that I've found around the house. Also a "lowly seedling", I look forward to reading others suggestions

put them outside, they'll do al the catching they need on their own! or the freezer method works great for me, i just find a bug, put in an upside down glass, put in freezer for 30-45 secs, and they really slow down... tweezers... VOILA!
