Okay, I tried looking but... I'm pretty confused. I can't find out how long it lives for? One site says it lives only for a year. Another site says that they have a dry winter dormancy but they don't require it in cultivation. Does this mean that if you don't give it the dry winter dormancy it'll die? Or is there a temperate and a tropical species? I'm sorry if this is a really easy question, I just couldn't find a lot of info on the internet, and my book doesn't have anything about nidiformis in it.

Although it's not a hardy perennial it's been my experience that if maintained between 75-80 F. D. nidiformis will last for a few years without any kind of a dry dormant period. If subjected to a temperate environment the plant behaves as an annual. Here's more info for you www.carnivorousplants.org/seedbank/species/D_nidiformis.htmPS. Please feel free to exalt my Karma for the help. I see I've been smitten for the controversy I've brought to the forum
