I know these little darlings grow to a different drum beat than other CPz. I read on most sites people are using 100% non-organic, staying with rock, vermicule, bark, etc... What does everyone use here? Until today I used the same mix I use for my neps which is 1 part peat and 1 part perilite. Today I changed it over to 1 part peat and 1 part sand (not fully thinking at the time ), but think I'll change it back tommorrow due to lack of drainage. Any other thoughs?

I generally use 1 part peat to 2 parts perlite and maybe one part sand or vermiculite- I like it to be pretty much like gravel with some dirt mixed in, consistency-wise

I use 1 part peat 2 parts coarse sand. I never leave them sitting on water and water them once every 2 or 3 days.

I have used that mix with good results. A nice fluffy chunky peat works better with sand for me. The finer stuff isnt quite as airy. Steephen

I re-potted mine in 1 peat and 1 perilite again. I also do let them sit in about 1/2 to 1 inch in water all the time and so far so good.
