They say use NaOH... but I never do... I make 1000ppm mixture basically 0.1 g per 100 ml of distilled water.
Take a test tube and a test tube holder.
Put in some rubbing alcohol... 1/5 or so and an equal amount of water.... add your BAP powder.. lets say 0.2 g Boil some water on the stove. Heat the test tube in the boiling water make sure it doesn't overflow....(don't smoke while doing this!!!!) Once the BAP seems to dissolve let it sit in the testube... it will after 5 mins or so start to reconstitute a bit.. Heat again.... usually takes me 4 or 5 times before not very much comes back....
Now with whats left of your 200ml of distilled water.... nuke it in the microwave till it is bubbling. Heat up the test tube with the BAP again and add to your very hot water... stir allot until it cools.
With luck you now have a 1000ppm mixture of BAP. Store in fridge in an eyedropper bottle..(brown)
Leny ;-)

I have some solid NaOH that I mixed with distilled water to get 1N NaOH. It's true you have to be careful with the solid. If a flake of it went into your eye, it would not be good. You can find it around. I made up 50cc of the 1N solution and it lasts forever for the few times I use it. The 1N solution itself is pretty benign, too.
