Well, there's plenty of them! If you can find a bog, its usually the second most common CP you can find, after D. rotundifolia, and virtually most of them as at least some. Bogs can be found sometimes on lake shores, but some area are covered entirely by them. They are rarer to find in western Quebec, as they have mostly drained for habitation/agriculture but they are more common in eastern Quebec/New Brunswick. Access isn't always easy as most are private/restricted land, and might be tricky to go in. As a few 'proof' of their presence in Quebec, I used to have some pictures on the forums but might have been deleted... I might post some news ones, especially of the delightful S. purpurea f. heterophylla

I know that if you go in the bog of the botanical gardens(jardin premiere nations), you can find about 5-6, and there is one or two also in the cement water gardens (jardin aquatique) 3-4 minutes from the entrance.
Otherwise, i did some research within this site and google maps and found some near st-thomas, which is near joliette i spent about 5 hours there and only found sphagnum, until i saw them! a small area that you really can`t get at, i would have needed boots that go all the way up to the hips...it was very wet and FULL of mosquitos... enjoyable but painful, i must have had 30 bites by the time i got home...anyways, i`m gonna go back to get more sphagnum soon, if you need some, let me know. I`d tell you where it is, but it is on private property and the owner is not too friendly, we had a little complication when he found me on his land. he thought i was stealing blueberries, but when i showed him my comtainer full of sphagnum, he started to laugh his ass off and said i could take it all!
that`s the gist of it! Later Steven

Hey matei, you should look at www.scapi-ccps.com . They show a list of different bogs (tourbieres) in Quebec where you can see Sarracenia Purpurea and Drosera Rotundifolia. Salut , Labine
