Hi guys here is my P. gypsicola one of the plants i ordered with that big Canadian order. I think is doing pretty good. The rocks on the sides of the plant are Gypsum cristals. Cheers Xavier

If you ever get any offshoots, let me know. Does the gypsum help?

Your gypsicola is starting to send up some nice leaves. I've found that these plants from Wistuba start from leaf pulling very easily. I have at least 7 or eight plants from leaf pullings, and two of these plants just started from leaf pieces laying on coarse dry silica sand. Where did you get your gypsum crystals?

Here is the latest batch of P. gypsicola leaf pullings I have going. There are eight of them in the pot, but some are smaller that others.

Thanks Mabs. Tom I have them set on a top dressing of sand. The sand is about 3/8" deep. The medium below is my regular all mineral mix, but the roots don't penetrate too deeply into the substrate.

Today, I was checking in on some gypsicola leaf pullings I had taken a few weeks back. I was quite surpised and pleased to see that all nine of the leaf pullings in this 1/2 pint canning jar had struck. Here is a bit of a closer look at some of them. They are sitting on pure perlite. Once the donor leaf has completely turned brown, I can transport/transplant them into their next pot, just like the ones growing above in the sand.

Thanks prmills. I really got lucky with all of them striking. Usually if I can get half of them to strike, I will call that a good outing.
