Hey guys,
I bought my very first VFT in April and it had a 15 cm stalk so i decided to let it flower. It is a green dragon and seemed quite healthy at the time. ;D
Question is, I believe its done flowering as all the flowers are shriveled up and one is turning black. How do I know when to extract the seeds? and How would I go about and do it?
Any advice?

You have to do the bee thing. Transfer pollen. I tryed to cross a couple of B52s. The flowers on mine have turned black and the blackness is starting to travle downward the stem. I don't think I was a very good bee. If the black part looks like it is getting larger as it was turning black you may have seed. I'm not up on how long. I would think a few months. As the seed matures sometimes if you look close you can see it in the pod. Stephen

Stephen, I saw yours and you'll get seed from your plants. The seed pods will continue to shrink and eventually crack, revealing tiny, shiny black seeds. At this point, they can be sown in a pot and placed in the fridge crisper for a period of one month. That is called cold stratification, and will greatly increase the seed's germination rates. Once out of cold strat, you can place the pots under grow llights and wait two to three weeks for the seed to germinate. And about the flowers shrivelling up and starting to turn black, that is normal. Leave the flowers on the flower stalk, until the stalk is slowly turning black and the blackness is moving down towards the plant. Wait one to two months, until the seed pods crack open a bit. You will be able to see some of the seed. You can harvest it then. So you should be able to have it by mid July, give or take a week or two. regards, dvg
