Hi Wayne, happy to hear that they made it there in jig time. Those plants were started out in cold stratification as home harvested seed from some of my typical plants, in Sept, '06. Once out of cold strat, they've been growing under a 27 watt CFL, with a 17 hour photoperiod. They haven't had a dormancy period yet, but I would strongly advise one for them this coming October. I would imagine, once they are a little older and have gone through their dormancy they will start to resume normal growth patterns (ie. rosetted formation in the spring and autumn, and with upright narrower petioles in the summer). Your new babies look like the weathered the trip from wintery prairies to east coast just fine.

Wayne, I wish I could of been a fly on the wall when you were trying to open that 'TAPED' box. You had me laughing here as I read of your ordeal with struggling to overcome my tape job, because I know how much tape went into that sucker. Oh well, at least your mother was having fun. btw we had nice conditions today and they got some lovely sunlight so that should wake them up a bit from the TAPED up box. you wrapped it in blankets of tape. haha i was like opening the box and flipping out cuz i wanted to see my new VFT and it was so funny my mother couldn't stop laughing at the sight of me. lol well i send my regard DVG and I'll never forget this!!

I also had to fight the evil duct tape. My wife thought you had gone overboard with the taping. It took me over five minutes to open the box with a sharp knife.

The plants were in great shape. The pings especially were very well protected by the slightly damp (?chilean) sphagnum. Thanks.

Hi Wayne, Hawaiin Botanicals or Keehn's carry them. Also one of the members may have one available. Good luck on your search. You're swiftly becoming one of us...CP collecting, obsessive maniacs. You've been warned!
