hey all, i will be going away for all of may and some of june, so i think i will leave my VFTs in dormancy and take them out when i get home in the middle of june. Family will be taking care of my plants, so im not wanted to trust my precious b-52 and typical to them. Any thoughts? Will this work? Will they be okay? If im not allowed to keep them in the fridge (im hoping i can), will a dark crawlspace be okay? im not sure how cool it is... it certainly wont be heated, and it will be dark.. im just more concerned about them drying out... hmmm... maybe if i put them in a ziplock with a wet sponge? or will that promote mold?
thoughts are appreciate!! thanks all! *EQL*

heck I would say take 'em out now they should be okay but the shortened season might make them a little "goofy" for lack of a better word
They might be SLOW to rebound, like this season will be crummy for ya, or they could be takin natural cues now and just die if they can't "make good" on their awakening
Not too sure tho but I think extending their dormancy tooo much might have adverse effects

Hi eql Mabudon has a good point. If you leave them too long it will probably do more harm than good. It's going to take the plants at least 6 week to wake up and get up to speed in their growth. If you pull them out before you leave and can get someone to watch their water until you get back you should come back to plants that have just started their full growth for the season. Cheers Rick
