the slow-motion trainwreck that is my S. "danas delight" is bugging me- I think what I did was let it get too dry over the winter or something, but the poor thing STILL doesn't have any pitchers- there's a crop opening soon I think, but I am worried- is there anything I can do?? or should do?? I think it won't come back next year if the pitchers don't open and get really busy sometime soon...
What could be the cause?? maybe the container it's in is too dry?? it's in a peat/sand mix, tho it was originally in LFS, I say this cos I transplanted it last fall and it has not been the same since, but other stuff in the same pot (D. filiformis, rotundifolia, P vulgaris, S.rubra, S.flava etc) is all looking swell, but this one darn plant is not doing SFA...
Any ideas??

I still get Scarlet Belle and Danas Delight mixed up, but for me the one with the flat lids is showing slow growth, and the one with the more rounded lids is real slow.

yes, Jay mentioned that S "Scarlet Belle" will be slower up here due to having psittacina in her parentage (the rounded lids one) that thing is now looking real good, patience was all that was required Update on the s "Dana's Delight" (looks kinda like an S.flava crossed with Leucophylla with lots of red and white, but typical "trumpet form" pitchers nonetheless) The danr thing STILL doesn't have Squat for pitchers, literally not one- it's still alive and growing, but not doing anything that would help it live much past the end of this season, I really can't figure it out at all but from my experiences so far I would say I am going to be playing "taps" for it sometime soon

Ah, so Scarlet Bell has parrot in her parentage. I gather, then, that she was merely tired and shagged out after a prolonged squawk! ;D

That is indeed the case, Brian Unfortunately, I think Danas Delight is officially pining for the fjords this winter, beautiful plumage tho I'm surprised no-one has said ANYTHING about this strange spectacle, if there was anything I could do, I would do it- I'm thinking of digging the poor thing up and putting heem back in a pot on the tray system and seeing if a boost in hydration helps any- drastic measure but I really don't want the poor thing to die

Hey carl whats up ( nice montey python bit ;D ) danas delight really shows its true self in around mid sept to oct around here ( the leuco side, 've had patches of leuco's growing outside at their peek, only to be wiped out by a heavy frost ) Ive got a 2 or 3 and they don't look like much right now , or it could of been a weak plant right from the get go later

Thanks Bro, I will leave it be and take it out if it doesn't do anything by october, just to be on the safe side- maybe if it makes a few lousy pitchers this summer/fall, I will repot it and give it a milder dormancy than it got last year... good thing 7 dollars at home depot will fill the hole too, so I am not going to lose any sleep, I was just hoping there was some sort of "magic bullet"
