At this point, I agree that habitat conservation for Sarracenia seems to be a failure. I've only been to Florida and even there not for ten years but the rate of land clearing was ferocious and disturbing. Not that we're any better. I used to take my kids to a local conservation area that used to be surrounded by farms. I went there last year with my youngest and the whole area was low-rise townhouses and strip malls. I felt very alienated.
There's no point pretending a species (or a geographical race) is going to be preserved in the wild if it's obvious it won't be. Some other interim measure will be needed. Individuals, zoos, botanical gardens or a combination of them.
