Hi guys, This is the plan for the glass terrarium which I am using now after removing all the plants and moving them to their own respective pots to give them more grow-space. I got permission to use the small motor in a small waterfall we have at home which exactly caters the 10 gallon tank. This is what I am planning But, what do I use to keep the media seperate from the water reservoir? It will still be distilled. But i don't want yellow water in there. The media will be still peat + perlite...and there iwll be few small cps in there....but it will be mostly a showcase for MOSS, as u guys know, I am crazy about moss. My ultimate goal is to create a miniature of this: something that makes u just stare .. the moss, a few little cp's. Thats what I want to be the fate of the small terrarium. A miniature moss garden. with a nice waterfall based on driftwood. Water slowly trickling down driftwood bathed in moss . cheers, varun

I keep some peat in a filter bag in my 10 gal. aquarium and it doesn't tint the water at all.

You can cut some Plexiglas and glue it in with aquarium silicon glue.

It's just a mesh bag for putting stuff inside in an aquarium filter. It keeps the filter medium inside the filter. I just meant that the peat didn't seem to tint the water at all.

hmmm......what do u think is the best, cheapest, easiest and most efficient way of making a WATER tight barrier between media and the water area.

I think it's too tough to keep the media and water totally separate. Why don't you just make a natural looking dam/barrier out of appropriate rocks or wood chinked with moss and see what happens? You could always add a very simple filter to the pump to remove any small particles. Make it simple.

i wanted to keep it seperate to prevent damage to the small pump.

Just use a prefilter. I think the pumps are pretty tough.
