I have been working and reworking this tank for about 3 months now. Finally am happy with it, just gonna add a few more things over the next little bit I've got a few custom made baskets for the walls that I'm gonna plant two neps in and would like to find some kind of branch to put in. but here it is: Sorry that it's not the best picture, but the glare is causeing problems. And no the golden rabbits aren't in the tank their trophies behind it! The new residents Will add more pictures later. Thanks, Sib

Thanks! Insectavore - thats the way to do it, you definately don't want to rush into it. I talked to the guy for probably 5 years? I just wanted to make sure it wasn't gonna be one of those things where ya rush into it, scramble for housing and food and then loose them to ignorance. I definately wanted to avoid that! Just talk to the local breeders, there seams to be a few out in QC. Sib

Ok had a chance to take a few semi decent pictures. Some general info, tanks 1' x 2' x 2', peat soil planting(no false bottom). Left side close up of the middle rightside rightside close up top view. Some of the plants have been there for months but many are fairly new, or atleast fairly new in the tank. I would like to do some modifications, and would ofcourse like to see it mature some. something like this crude drawing: The crude vission Ok the blue things on the wall are nepenthes baskets. the yellow shading just shows that I can place the baskets anywhere on those walls. The purple arrows show which plants are going to end up taller, or hopefully will. the green is representing some branch or drift wood, I'm still trying to find the right peice. the red x means what all red X's mean, I will likely get rid of the dish, sticks out like a sore thumb! That will remain to be seen though! Sib

Gorgeous set up Sib. Now I've got to get some Azures too It's amazing how many of us share the same interests - CPs, frogs, orchids, nature, terrariums ... and it's all wonderful! ;D PS how many of you also grow lithops?

Well for the final photo chapter hehe. Finally added the frogs tonight after 10 days in a temperary enclosure. Had to finish the final tweaking, but somehow I don't think I'll be done revamping it for quite a while Enjoy! The pair The mrs. exploring the fern, seams to be her preferred plant! Where as the Mr prefers the flame lily, better height I guess. Thanks, Sib

The frogs and plants look very artistic.
I used to grow lithops years ago. I always liked them and I was actually thinking of getting back into them.

Looks like the frogs are enjoying the new pad. What are the frogs worth? Can they be/get poisonous. I hear they get there poison from what they eat in the wild. What do they eat in captive? Sorry for all the questions I may have to get some one day I have a few spare tanks.

I bought 1000 lithop seeds last year, and managed to germinate all of them. But during one unthinking moment, I watered them and left them in the bright summer sun. Scorched and killed 3/4s fo them. But I've still got around 3-400 baby lithops growing strong into their second season. The babies are now about 0.5cm in diameter. Anyone else into Lithops besides Lloyd and I ?

Thanks for the complements guys! Darts do indeed get their toxicity form their diet in nature. In captivity, they eat pin head crickets and most commonly fruitflies. I feed the latter for a few reasons. It's cheeper, you can culture your own, never outgrow the ideal feeding size, and probably most improtant of all they won't eat my plants in the tank while the frogs hunt them down. They come in a variety of sizes and colour patters, and prices. some called thumbnails will finish off the size of a dime, or quater depending on species, and I think the largest ones I've read up on are bout 5cm. I tend to stick with the bigger ones. Depending on what you want and where you get it from, they can be $40-$200+ each. Be forwarned, they can be addictive before I even picked up this pair I was already looking at my next set hehe, just a matter of time. Funny thing was that the material I read all stated that the species I chose was a poor choice for a tall tank as they don't get off the ground much, mine must be an exception to the rule because they're all over the "canopy" Thanks, Sib
