Hi! I read a book:Les plantes carnivores. It was a french version and I don't think an english version is existing. Anyway, I did'nt liked it because it's too general. The pictures were great, a good macro! But in this book, ther is just a little number of species, the minimum.. It was my little critic! bye! tommy

That book was my first book ever on CP, got it even before I got my first CP I think, about 10 years ago. I loved it, but surely more because it was the one which made me discover so much thing about CP than because of its content. It's nothing compared to the Savage Garden, but the pictures were wonderful. I can't remember all of them thought, the book was 'stolen' from me 3 years ago...
A good beginner book anyway, and in french, which isn't as common as CP books in english...

Of course, but you said it, it's a beginner's book. I was searching for an advanced book like the Savage Garden, but in french... I found it at the library. At lease i didn't have to buy it !

Very good book in french are lacking, and traduction on english books dont seems to be possible for now.... a too small market possibly...
You can try to look after Marcel Lecoufle book... surely hard to find and the review weren't too good by what i saw... An old book, but never saw it anywhere... There is, of course, JJ Labat which gave us 2 books in french. The one I read was for beginner too, in my opinion... There are a few others, rarer books too but thats pretty much it...
If you have the chance, perhaps you can take a look at the library of the Montreal Botanical Garden, im sure you'll be able to have a nice idea of whats available.

Adrian Slack's book "Carnivorous plants" is available in french at the Montreal public library. (On a side not they also have Charles Darwin's original book released in 1892 for surpervised consultation only!) I am referring to the first one, the second one bares the same title, but has much less cultivation information. Some information in the book is a bit outdated, but a worthwhile read. It is fairly rare and pricey to purchase though (seen some at 200-300$) ...I was able to find a used english version for about 50$. This list comprises of many CP books accompanied with comments about them: www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq1520.html
