but vinc! think about this....you are spending 9 x 10 + 30 for a single greenhouse = 120 already. Also u are paying for electricity and all..Its a one time investment in a outdoor greenhouse and you are set. Light is taken care of...air circulation as well. If anything the temps should be great for nearly all the plants we grow. Just invest in a swamp cooler..and there u go highlands will thrive too. basically its an all win. ..only concern is winter...but even then...the temperate CP's would love being left there..nicely get the light and also dormancy. The neps though should be taken inside....unless u have a division and a way to keep the heat up.

Ya well You see lets say 500 for the greenhouse, I don't know how much for the swamp cooler and thats only for summer since I don't grow many temperate plants... Thats the big preblem.. I'm a tropical plant enthusiast I perfer them... (Also I find them easier) Cya

I'll bet there are plans for builidng a fairly low cost greenhouse, especially if it's in a protected area or against a house.

yeah man! thats the dream . And I am pretty sure that I will get atleast a part of it if (I really hope to God), i,.e., the admission in med school works out, the rest of it is pretty much granted. It will grant me INSTANT freedom to do what I want with my hobby: i.e., take it over the limit and grow all the nepenthes I want

ooh yeah! This is an obsession man! Unless i suffer tremendous losses which render me useless at growing neps....i will not give up. And now that my room is cooler (my head is cooler after the triumph that i can get the rajah cold nights by putting icepack and bottles on top of its level)....I will never give up with the rajah. it will be my insignia. If this one works out well...I plan on getting like 3 or 4 next time. But seriously, once I have my own house...my own rules...I will not sit back. I am getting an outdoor nepenthes greenhouse. It is decided. That is an ambition now. A complete automated system with climate control.

When I bought my first neps from Al Bickell, I visited his place. He had a modest greenhouse next to his house stuffed with neps and orchids and the basement was full of TC stuff.

that is pretty hardcore too. Having TC lab in your basement. I just want to go for a nice grow area. However, things that would concern me is pests and diseases from outside. But....meh! I'll worry about that later.
