Heres a pic of one of my Venticosa's (I think) in the window. I got this when it was about 5 inches tall last year. Only problem is that now it seems all the pitchers but a few are turning black on the edges. Any ideas? The Raff in the upper right was just hanging around while the greenhouse was being built.

As Insectivore says, the pitchers do die eventually. If the plant is forming new pitchers of the same size than you know you are doing everything fine. If not, the humidity may be too low.

yeah! pitchers to die eventually..However most last really long. The ones on my ventrata (some of the old ones) are like 6 months...only the lid is wilted..even the entire pitcher is still fresh. The still older ones which are like 8-10 months old.

I guess once the neps acclaimatise...they make very efficient pitchers to suit the conditions. These lead to really long lastic pitchers. I guess the rajah's pitchers were resting on drier moss or so...thats why now they are all soggy. I guess once it acclaimatises (if it ever does and forms new pitchers...that means a few months from now ) the new pitchers should be stronger.

Well My truncata has to be THE slowest nep... It grew 6-7 leaves in 3 years... and ONLY 1 pitcher... Thats slow... Cya

hmm....that seems too slow...are u sure the plant is getting optimal condiitons? That pace seems more appropriate for a villosa

I also notice that the upper vine on my nep is not producing any pitchers and if you look at it the leaves seem to be dying off on the upper one. The lower one is fine. Should I just take some cuttings off the top one and try em out since it seems to be doing badly? ?
