A few setup/growing area pictures have been posted lately... so why not regroup them in one thread! Post where do you grow your beloved CP here, it might serve to others as a source of inspiration ! So i am reposting mine here It is basically shelves with 1 or 2 fixtures of fluorescents (2 tubes each), 1 day light and 1 cool white per fixture. The terrarium has a lid with a small gap in it, no fan or air pump in them anymore, and plants don't stand in water in any of them. So far, they are growing well, but heat is a (minor) issue.

The high humidity in your greenhouse don't cause problem with your fluorescent tubes? It is the main reason I haven't covered my shelves with plastic yet... Very nice plants by the way, your spectabilis is making me jealous!

Hi Dom, Is that a Darlingtonia in a warm looking terrarium? I would have thought that wouldn't work.
Nice set up everybody. I'm embarassed to post mine until I clean the algae, soil mixture and general messiness up.

Yep, it's a Darlingtonia. 2 years in my tropical terrarium, and it's making a flower. Heliamphiora pics:

Very nice heliamphora. That's interesting about the Darlingtonia, especially the flowering! I'll be trying some seeds in the spring. Maybe I won't have to worry about keeping them cold. My old one did well for 2 years then died on repotting.

This is my Niagara Falls (zone 6a) pond shelf planter as it looked last year. It’s in a standard rigid plastic water pond. These come with shelves designed to hold bog plants and you get these kidney shaped plastic baskets to put the bog plants in. Problem is the baskets are not high enough for CPs since when the pond is full the water line is at the top of the basket. So, I got 2 baskets, packed one full of wet sphagnum, put the other on top and filled it as well. The bottom is always in the water, the top is always at least a couple of inches above the water surface, and there is adequate wicking through the plastic mesh to keep the top moist. This spring I topdressed the sphagnum with a little silica sand. The pond is fed by a bulkhead tee and hose attached to the eaves trough so when it rains it is flushed with fresh rainwater. Duckweed and lily pads cover the pond surface to slow evaporation. I almost never have to add water. Not shown is the big ugly cage I had to put over it to keep the skunks from flinging my CPs all over the yard. Last winter was brutal, we had very warm weather that melted all the snow followed by severe cold with no snow cover. Dana’s Delight and Scarlet Belle came back, but took until late summer to show their full glory. Neither flowered but they are getting awfully big. The vft ‘typical’ almost came back but it must have used up 99 of its 100 tribbles and turned to mush.

Thankyou vraev! When I use image shack I have the option of checking image size and selecting an option, what do you recommend? I don't want to lose resolution but my camera is an older pixel challenged model, and I don't need to spread them out this large. I'll post my Hastings Highlands setup tomorrow at the latest.

Hmm....I personaly use photoshop to downsize the images with like minimal loss. I never tried the imageshack downsizing myself. But from what I know....its not soo bad....so check it out. Try like downsizing to 1024 x 768 or 800 by 600 to suit for people who have older computers.
