Hi Guys
I was wondering if water fleas would eat Utricularia Gibba?
I have found all of them kind of picking on it.
Cheer

I would think they are maybe eating algae?? I was under the impression that aquatic Utrics would eat the "water fleas", not the reverse, but that's just me- you do mean Daphnia right??

Do you have daphnia in with your U. gibba? I could never keep them alive. After a few weeks of multiplying like crazy they would disappear and never come back. Since they've been spraying for West Nile Virus I've never been able to find any more daphnia nearby anyway.

Hey guys yes they are actually daphnia and they are eating my U. Gibba.
Today i was checking on it and found lots of peaces floating around. daphnia is too big for the Gibba to eat anyway soo I moved my plant to new place.

I thought too that phytophagic Daphnia were only eating phytoplankton/algae... Strange!
About West Nile Virus, the spray usually used is a variety of Bacillus thuringensis (B.T.) which is specific to a family of insects, so Daphnia shouldn't be harmed, theorically
