Last summer I was in Newfoundland at Gross Morne Park and I found a flower on U. Intermedia. From what I have read it is very seldom that they flower, so I thought I would share it with you. It was raining so the flower is wet, and I was wet!!! ![](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2326/2289654828_2ba9f8b834.jpg) here are some bladers from my home grown one. ![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3236/2288862883_375162e71a.jpg)

Nice pictures. Does your home-grown one have to go into dormancy?

They are outside ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) so I think they are dormant. You ask a good question that I don't know the answer to. I have found (by looking at them in the wild) that they like shallow water so that their leave can be in water and their traps in the mud at the bottom of the watter The ones that I have grow fast so I will have some to trade when spring comes.

I can now answer the question: do they go dormant? -yes! they died down to a "bud" I went out to take a picture of the "buds" but they have already grown so much that they don't look like a "bud" now.
What is the correct name for "bud"? Ii cant think of it right now.
Lloyd if you want some send me a PM with your mailing address

I think Utric's winter buds are called turions. But it's just easier to call them buds.
