Hi guys,
I just noticed yest that near the pitcher of my ceph....there are 2 small leaves a bit hairy coming from the media. I guess its a ceph offshoot. BUT, if u guys remember I have burnt the ceph growth point.
NOW:
DO u think that there is any chance of getting any more growth from the big plant? OR is the offshoot the one that is probably going to grow ONLY?
Do u think its wise to use those pitchers to make cuttings of the ceph? for backup?
I think its probably from the same plant with a new division underneath. I don't want to risk it...but I am thinking...that if I have to restart with small pitchers again...why don't I just use the existing pitchers to make some cuttings?
thanks,
vaurn

Leave it alone for now Varun, that's my 2 cents, just let it grow and it should be fine. I have a few separate plants in my one pot, but until they look sturdy enough I'm leaving it. If you accidentally somehow upset the growing bits, the offshoots might die as well leaving you Ceph-less, so let it get a bit more established before you mess with it, is what I'd recommend.
NEXT!!! (should be the opposite advice, if I recall the way these things go corectly)

yeah I have to second mabudon, atleast untill the new growth point is up and eating. Infact, I would feed the existing pitchers to kick start it. Sib

I only take leaf pullings to give away plants. I also wait until the plant is in active growth with lots of new pitchers and leaves. Then I use 1-2 non-pitcher leaves.

That plant is not strong enough for cuttings yet, you make leaf pulling from that now you might as well throw it in the compost, listen to maubudon step back watch it grow, and leave it alone .
wait about a year to make cuttings
