Does anyone have any mimosa pudica seeds? I wanted to try here first before I gamble it on ebay..
I had a lot of them but friends & family members visited and I gave them all away

I got a pack from a garden centre for free because they were expired, they still sprout but it is very low. They are about a year and a half from there expiry date. PM me and we can work something out.

Mine expired two years ago but still germinate great. The trick is you pour boiling water into a bowl the put your seeds in the water right away and let them soak overnight or for even faster germination let them soak for 24 hours. I usually push the seeds underwater with my finger as well to make sure they're covered with water. Then plant about 1/4 inch deep. Should have germination within a few days.

I use the boiling water trick as well, but I only plant the seeds that have sunk to the bottom of the cup the next day. I've gotten 95%+ germination with this method. It would be interested to see whether the floating seeds germinate as well! EDIT: Mr. Fothergills seeds (Canadian Tire and Home Depot usually carry their seed racks) usually have mimosa. Ontario Seed Company sells mimosa seeds too so check places that have OSC seed racks (Lee Valley, most nurseries like Belgian in Breslau). These aren't as hard to find as most people think! The seeds are almost flat discs with a bump in the middle. If you do end up ordering online, compare pictures before sowing.

I guess now I know I can use boiling and it won't cook the seeds! It's too bad I just planted them on Sunday! Go figure lol
