Hi,
I have some drosera rontundifolia in small pots. I haven't put them outside yet because I never got around to asking how the pots should be winterized. How do you guys go about this? I have no clue. I've never tried it before with any plant.
I don't have access to any ground, so I can't bury the pots and cover the plants with mulch, as was suggested in another thread. They'll be placed on my balcony, probably in the open storage area that's appended to it so they'll have some wind cover. Should I place them in a tub and bury them in mulch?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hardy temperate dews should be fine outside. Avoid exposing to high TDS groundwater. Cover with snow to avoid drying and windburn. Mulch is good but if it goes above 2-3C you'll have to uncover them and allow airflow to avoid fungus. Moist but not soaking. Ideally keep the temp above -5C. Try to avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

I don't know if I can avoid multiple freeze / thaw cycles and temps lower than -5 but would placing the pots in a big plastic container (without the lid or with air holes in the lid) and covering them with cloth or jute work. Should I replace the cloth/jute with snow once we start getting some (I could punch holes in the bottom of the container so water won't accumulate once it starts to thaw).
Speaking of water. Should I wait for the water in the pots to be mostly evaporated/absorbed before putting them out?

Honestly if you only have a pot or two I would just throw the pots into the fridge for a couple month. Far less risk of loosing them over the winter. Don't let them dry out but don't put them into dormancy soaking wet. The pots should be moist.
