Some of my relatives are visiting Vietnam and told me they sell some Nepenthes in local markets.. I was wondering if there would be an issues to bring it back to Canada?
The species they see for sale are N. smilesii and N. thorelii, although I know they might have some N. kampotiana and N. mirabilis.
They brought some peppers back to Vietnam with no problems but I'm not sure about bringing carnivorous plants back to Canada.
Thanks

Neps are CITES protected. It's difficult to do but possible. There is a lot of paperwork and hassle involved if the plants are not a part of your household.

Darn sounds like a hassle. They are selling Neps like these Neps for about $4 Canadian per pot I might get seeds instead since they are only $2 for 50 seeds with over 30 species. If I manage to get them I'll do a giveaway. Wish me luck

You could always put a few plants in your coat pocket (or more risky luggage) and take a chance. Do the old "how did this get there?"
