Hi all, My N. spectabilis X aristolochoides is blooming and it is a female plant / or it is doing something weird I've never see before So, any pollen other than N. miranda would be appreciated (quickly if possible, I think I've wait a bit too long before asking). I already have miranda pollen but I've read somewhere that it is perhaps not fertile so I prefer not use it. I'll do if I can't find other pollen. There don't seem to be a lot of flowers and it is my first time pollinating nepth but if I'm successfull, I'm more than wiling to share the seeds with the donor and other members if possible. Contact me via PM. Cheers, Shogg

How soon will you need it?
I have veitchii gold, veitchii pink, clipeata, platychila and something else I can't recall right now all coming into flower, but they're several weeks away. The platychila is probably the closest.

Congrats Shoggs! Wish I had something in bloom for you right now, but I knew Justin would come to the rescue with just a handful of incredible, and rare species to select from

Do the pod will get bigger before I need to pollinate it or will it get bigger only after I pollinated it ? Any pollen would do if you think I can still wait ... Ya looks like it needs to be pollinated now. Might get away with another couple days if its not ready yet but unfortunately none of my pollen will be ready. I might have some in the fridge at work of truncata and rafflesiana, but I think I tossed it On a side note, can I get dibs on the first cutting of that plant? I think it would grow really well at the gardens.

Yep, me too Lloyd. My Miranda sent 3 flowers this Summer No other option, I'll try mine and we'll see if it is worth keeping or not. Thanks Justin. No worries, I'll try the miranda. I'm really busy at the moment, I should have asked earlier (still, your plants would not have be ready ...) All the cuttings will be female right ? I'll wait for the basal to grow larger and probably try to roots some cutting. I'll put one aside for you.

Sort of the wrong place to ask, but I'd love to see a picture of your plant if you have one.

Ok, I'll try to take a picture later this week but the plant isn't as hot as it was last year. It is now vining and as lost all is basal pitchers. The upper pitchers are smaller. I got the plant from BCP 2 years ago so yours will surely looks the same paulkoop.

Oups, miss that and forgot to put picture ... sorry. I'll try to do it soon.
I don't know the shelf life of pollen ... but it can be keep in the fridge for a few months. Longer if you can dessicate it.
Does someone know if unpollinated seeds have embryo ? One of the pod I pollinated with miranda pollen split today and a few of the seeds have embryo.
