My P. gypsicola needs a repot. I have some gypsum powder which I could add to the substrate. Doe any one have any idea how much I should apply ? KP.

Powder might be too quick release, maybe pieces would be better.

I got some powder at a Chinese grocery store of all places and added maybe 1/2 teaspoon per 2" pot. The pings did well with it. But they're dead now, so take this advise with a grain of gypsum. I always had trouble getting them through the dormancy. Do you feed yours heavily before they go to sleep?

My plants get through dormancy as long as I keeep them bone dry. I do not feed my plants, they tend to catch the odd insect that come throught the window during the summer. May I my will try some DBW or springtails this summer.

Yes ...
I have a bad habit with gypsicola. I try to keep them bone dry when they are dormant but after a few week, I start to feel worry and put a bit of water in the tray. It always end with the dead of the plants %?&%?& After 3 attempts, I think I now have learned the lesson.
Also, they need to be fed a lot in Summer or the crown will shrunk back to nothing in Winter.
