I have a 50 gallon tank left over from when the crabbies lived in it, it's old and I wouldn't trust it to hold water and it's a little too old for me to be comfortable putting another animal in it so I thought maybe it might make an ideal terrarium in the future. Right now it has a screen lid from when the crabs were in it, I had no trouble keeping humidity and temperture at a constant 80% 80 degrees when the hermit crabs were in it (ideal crab conditions) my question is, how much money would it take to convert it into a terriarium? I'm going to assume I'll need a light of some kind as well as a timer to put the light on, I'm not sure what else it would take to keep more tropical plants happy, for humidity for the crabs I ususally just sprayed them with water when the humidity levels dropped a little, I ended up spraying them about every 1-2 days and I rigged up a weird DIY humidifier I kept on them sometimes (I can show pics in the morning) How much does all the lighting and other stuff I don't know about cost approx?

For the simplest set-up all you would need is a fluorescent shop light, light bulbs and a cheap timer. I imagine you could get all of that for less than thirty dollars if you kept your eyes open for sales potentially even less.
