I thought I'd share this interesting article about Nepenthes hemsleyana : www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/how-do-bats-find-right-carnivorous-plants-safe-roostingSpoiler: Nepenthes hemsleyana in the wild is in-adept at catching insects rather it gets its nitrogen source from the feces of bats. Previously it was only thought to provide a safe roosting area for Kerivoula hardwickii ( a species of bat in borneo) but scientists have now discovered that its has acoustic reflecting structures that help it communicate with the bats and let them know the location they are at. It's like calling out to the the bat saying "free house, I'm over here ______".
