Greetings,
I've been feeding my neps crickets lately and have noted a very significant increase in pitcher and leaf size, as well as growth rate.
I would like to do the same for my army of sticky plants (dews and pings) and remembered reading threads here about flightless fruit flies.
Back when I grew everything in an indoor terrarium, I used to grow tons of normal fruitflies on bananas in those Nescafe jars, but every so often, I'd inadvertantly release a few hundred into the house when I went to put them into the terrarium, much to the dismay of my wife.
I think that the flightless kind would be better, as I could rear them in an aquarium and simply put a few pots at a time into it for feedings.
Does anyone know where I could get a batch to start a culture?

I'm thinking that the winged, but flightless ones would be best, as the wings would just be something else to get stuck on the plant for better adhesion.

for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the second kind....theres hydei which is larger...thats the one I use for my darts... but theres a second kind, lloyd uses it, it has wings aswell, I think they call them crinkly wing fruitflies...melanogaster maybe? I dunno, its a bit smaller then hydei andmore suitable... if you don't end up being able to find some I could probably always mail a few when it warms up. Sib
