I think it relates to the actual pathogen count of a cockroach vs. a human. Not surprising considering how much bigger and complex a human is than a cockroach plus being warm blooded probably encourages pathogens.

no they spend more time cleaning , the chemical receptor's on the there bodies are always being cleaned , most insects are ( there are exceptions ,the "dung beetle" ;(
