Hello guys, I post here after being unsuccesful in finding any info about this specific plant. I bought it for 5$ 2 days ago at Rona Lansing. I know its a begonia. I remembered it from Sir David Attenborough's Private life of plants. It can tolerate low lights as it is in the tropical rainforest floor. I can say from what I have read so far...this is a THICK STEMMED BEGONIA. I have to say every leaf is an independent stem. My setup is as you can see behind my computer on a piece of tissue along with my selaginella. I bought the new philips Daylight 23 watt CFL for them. I think it is just the light they would like...full spectrum.....as a matter of fact...maybe too much for the begonia....but lets see. Thank you for the help guys. This is such a lovely little plant.....you guys have to get one. I never was sooo attracted to a non CP (apart from tillandsias....which I can never grow properly ) cheers, vraev

High N fertilizer is high concentration of Nitrogen. On all fertilizing mixes you can find in the garden center, the nitrogen % is the first of the three (main) listed;
ex: 30-15-45 = 30% nitrogen - 15% phosphorus - 45% potassium (all the traces elements should be listed in smaller caracters elsewhere on the label.
So a high N fertilizer could be a 30-10-10, 25-10-10, etc,

It's funny to see a potted plant that isn't surrounded by a pile of U. subulata.

What is the formulation of your granules? If you dont get high nitrogen formula wont kill your plants, but they'll perform a bit less, nothing critical

I'm not particularly enamoured of begonias but I have to admit that one has attractive leaves.
