I have a 55 gallon tank collecting dust since my move, debating on putting fish back in it or make a terrarium, I went out of the way to wire & make my own computer fan like Berry rice suggested, the question is, is it worth taking my 2 trays of sarr seedlings & a couple purps & venosa & 2 nepenthes high landers & fly trap seedlings off my grow rack & make a terrarium ? If I were to make a terrarium what are the main important things I should know & do, & how do I accomplish it ?

Lol, salt water tank to rich for my blood That's what I said a year ago too. That's why I built a nano lol. Good luck with your terrarium. I have no experience with it. I use a grow rack system. I do know terrariums will be easier with species from the same climate requirements especially if the plants are not in pots. I'm sure many others will chime in and if I'm not mistaken Ng knows quite a bit about lighting. Make sure u make a build thread if you decide to go ahead with it. JB

As far as I can tell and I am new to terrariums myself and along way from being a expert I think the plastic aquarium hose is so you can bury it just laving a little above the media so you can water the media thorough and not just the surface but I am no expert and could be wrong. then drill holes at intervals to distribute the water evenly
Then I used a plastic tube, long enough so it that goes from one corner of bottom of the aquarium, to the far corner, and then out so you can add a spout for watering.

is it worth taking my 2 trays of sarr seedlings & a couple purps & venosa & 2 nepenthes high landers & fly trap seedlings off my grow rack & make a terrarium ? That mix of plants will be challenging. They come from different climates and the sarrs and vfts need dormancy so they'd need to be removed for 4-5 months of the year. Mixed terrariums work best with plants with similar requirements that can stay in situ for a while. Usually it's neps plus tropical dews, ferns, some small orchids, bromeliads and tropical vines. Sarrs and vfts do well in a bog container outside.

Ya it's just sarr seedlings I'm gonna grow year round to achieve max growth in little time that's all & added bonus a home for my ventricosa so, I think the added humidity would help the Sarr seedling a ton !! Don't you think ?
