Hi I would like to set up a web page. I need some advice. I just checked my provider, no space is included for free. That being said I would like it to be free. I see some of you have pages. I need some guidance. Thanks Stephen

I use my Sympatico space. I know there are free webspace pages if you look around, I think they may have ads or banners but nothing too annoying.

Greetings Sib and I have been working on the idea of website for a long while. I've actually got most of it done. The problem is, like you said, getting a place to host it. I may have line on a place to put it, however I have to get back on that. The other thing that needs to be discussed is a redirection package. You'd like to have something like www.ocps.org . There is company called blue genesis that does this. They get a domain and setup a redirection to the place the site is hosted. Its a great service but it costs about 50 or 60 bucks a year. If we can find a place to fund it, I can get it all setup! Purpman

Everyones right, but I think Stephans talking about having a website for his CPs, or something of a personal nature. For my rabbitry I use geocities works well, Particularlly if you host your pictures out of a place like photobucket. Good online editor very user friendly, hope this helps, Sib

Yes Im talking about a personal one, CP sale sight and something I can put the little ones(childrens) picks up for relates to have a gander at.
Can one host his own page? I have a desktop set up that I don't use. I 99% of the time use my laptop via router to do most things. I supose one would need a server operating system and it would have to fly with my internet provider im using.
I would like to have a page that has no advertising, so I guess that would rule out any free hosting.
Thanks for all the replies people. Stephen

If you're simply looking for space to host a bunch of pages, etc., I have a business account with Rogers. So far, my webspace stats show my using a whopping 61 meg of 3000 available, so I have TONS of space available. I could hang a folder off of swconnection.com and host everything there at no cost to the club if you'd wish. If you wanted something like www.ocps.com, you could get a cheap domain name provider to maintain that and redirect it to the location we set up. >>> Rick <<<

I’m trying 741.com its free but has the wiggly waggly banners and crap. I’m using web dwarf v2, nother freebe, to do the design. It’s going to be kind of drab but good experience. I’ve been at it for about 3hrs now. I put a grid of P.agnata on the background of the second page after looking at it for a couple of hrs my eyeballs felt like they were going to fall out and my head felt like I drank a bottle of tequila. Got rid of the agnata. I had a heck of a time figuring how to have a box that would open another page when clicked but its coming along.
Maybe that’s what I need is a shot with a lime chaser ;D Stephen

Rick.....that sounds great. In either case, I will be available for graphic design of the site if required.
