I recently purchased a pinguicula emarginata. Sadly when I brought it home and repotted it to make a division, it became evident that the plant had no roots. also after the job was complete several leaves fell off of the plant. I do not think the root problem had to do with dormancy because there was still some sticky mucus on the leaves.
What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions would be helpful

Put the fallen leave on a bed of perlite in a close plastic container with a small pinch of water (a thin film on the bottom of the pot to keep humidity but not touche the leave) and you should have plantlets in a few week. Let the mother plant in the new pot and hope for the best. It could be alright even if it don't have roots. You could also put a plastic dome over the pot for a few weeks. But be aware that some ping don't like high humidity so it will perhaps not work.
