Ok This may settle you a bit cook1973 lol Cephalotus follicularis Your growing conditions and other factors will change growth rate your results may vary. When I got it as a seedling it measured about 1" After a year or so.... Yes it did help I was told it was a pitcher starting to form and give it a few weeks it looks like it may grow into the plant in the front pot in the 3 pot pic I was just weary cause I was told this plant is a slow grower and mine did the a week after I removed then re cleaned the peat and replanted it in tthe pot close to the center But thanx for "calming me" lol !!

I think it is a moderate grower My cephalotus are on the average watered every 15 days and there's always something new growing on every one of them.

Cephs are notoriously slow Dennis. In the beginning my Cephs took months to grow a pitcher and I was just as worried. Be patient.... this plant demands it.

I'm almost 100% sure there's no equation for root length vs. time unfortunately man.I wouldn't be concerned so much as long as the plant is healthy. Please for the love of god don't check the roots once a week to see if they have grown D ...

Like most plants, after a few seasons they would generally benefit from a new pot/fresh soil. As for the leaf its tough to say, try to post a couple pics. They speak 1000 words bud.
I know they produce both flat leaves and pitchers. The red hue is likely sun/light exposure by the description you're giving.
Where did you pick that guy up?

It has been scientifically proven that constantly looking at the plants stunts their growth. Growth rate varies as the inverse of the product of the percent of the time you view the plants and the percent of the plant you look at. For example if you look at 100% of the plant (say roots are 1/3) for 100% of the time the growth rate would be 1/10,000. If you looked at the same plant (but not the roots) only say 5% of the time the factor would be 1/330. Thus by constantly looking at the whole plant (with the roots) you would be slowing the growth rate by a factor of 30. So don't dig up the roots and only look at the plant when you have to water it and you will greatly increase the growth rate. That's the reason why when you don't look at a plant for a long time you often suddenly notice a growth spurt/new pitcher/flower, etc. I believe this is a corollary of Zeno's Paradox. Also if you don't believe me, your plants will shrivel up and die.
