My Ceph looks dead but I am unsure because there is new green growth coming up almost on top of the plants main root and it seems to be branching off it! I cannot get a pic posted cause my card reader is yet again broken anyone have insight?...could it be making a non carny leaf?

It could be. If there's green it's probably still alive. I can't say anything for certain though as I would need to see a pic

Its still green, been green for days there looks to be short stem coming off it I keep it in baggie and open the bag for air daily for air or I leave it open all night the reseal it the next day the bag has the runoff from top watering in it for added humidity. adding a pic is pointless since my best camera cannot pick it up its a narrow green stem with what looks like another stem branching off it why did it die back? I was told this can be treated like a tropical plant....no dormancy

Hey Dennis, is this one of the cephs I sent you? If I were you I would slowly take the bag off and get rid of all the humidity. Make sure its a slow process! Make holes in the bag and open them a little bit each day! Do you have grow lights? If it is cold around your lights then they may be waiting to warm up a little before coming back. See if this helps! good luck!

I'd give it some fresh air (take the baggie off it) and put it in the brightest south-facing window you can find. An LED desk lamp is not going to give enough light for any CPs. If it's putting up green it's not dead. Mine all had their annual fall die-back a few months ago and now they are putting up lots of non-carnivorous leaves.

oh ok I seen it die back which confused me cause I heard they are treated like tropicals then I seen new growth BTW whats a recovery leaf?
I dunno if this a true LED I germinated D Natalnsis seeds and got my lost flytraps to make new traps even my former Capensis grew dewy leaves with this light even this year spatulata and capensis seeds germinated the Ceph you gave me seem to have and is doing well under it I will remove the bag and use a tray for run off from top watering then use the runoff for watering til its gone
Its 36 Bright White LED bulbs so bright it causes headaches if looking at the plants along time as bright as a 90w bulb

after being accidentally upprooted and dropped my ceph tried to hang on staying green then growing new stem but finally gave up the fight and died completely A moment of silence for my former ceph or a 21gun salute 1.Bang!

...accidentally uprooted and dropped??? You should be more careful with your plants if you want them to survive.

Actually, I've upended plants multiple times. Makes quite a mess, although it's never killed a plant so far.

Hal told me to put it is a south window so I did this at night and during the day it was in water this worked days it even showed anew stem but this morning was gone I found the remains but unsure what the root id to see if it would come back from the root I am not blaming Hal..this happens at least once
