Well folks, a brand new year ...with some interesting weather for some. We all really must take global warming seriously. I will save this global warming for another thread post on our OCPS forum (but if you're really that keen to read about my take on global warming and CPs, check out my latest post on my blog: blog.generasian.ca/2007/01/25/global-warming-or-is-that-global-warning/ ). For 2007- I plan to visit a bunch of CP nurseries, make my greenhouse more energy efficient; add a few more droseras to my cramped growing areas; expand my bog; build a new lowland enclosure into my home. As for some dream plants... I hope to acquire Nep jacquelinae, N. macrophylla and N. hamata; cephalotus 'german giant'; sarracenia flava 'all red'. And do some more writing... ...oh yes, and figure out a way to pay for all of this

My goals this year are to lose some weight (yeah right - I'm married to a Greek girl who LOVES cooking and does an awesome job of it), to increase my CP and orchid collection, to get the rest of the house a bit less cluttered, to resurrect my salt water reef aquarium and to MAKE THIS DARNED GET-TOGETHER HAPPEN THIS YEAR!
Finally, one of my ongoing goals is to grow my collection out to a point where I can propagate some of it and give back to a very generous community from which I have benefited a great deal in the past.

Congrats Carnyboy!! I think my main focus is to get to a point where our band (which just formed about 2 weeks ago) is playing actual gigs in front of actual audiences is one for sure, for me... And the get-together should also happen, so that's on my list.... Global warming/climate change is a pretty big deal too, but I can't make my bicycle any more energy efficient, so making our house a bit better at keeping the heat in is part of the struggle I suppose And of course, like Rick, trying to get as many "new" plants into as many hands as will take them (you London area folks, we sometimes go to London to visit family, I will post if/when I am headed out that way and bring any requests with me at that time) OH and to Sib- maybe there's just no room for improvement

LOL, HA! always room for improvement! Actually I do have goals I suppose. First if to finish outfitting my bog garden and to plant it up big time this spring...(it's huge, like 20' long or something like that...Don't know what I was thinking!) In theory I have the hard part done, the hole is dug hehe which was in big time clay! Just a matter of following it through. Also to expand my collection, would like to have atleast every sarracenia species and subspecies/varriety by the fall. Hoping to bring my rabbits to a new level, Already have black halrequin dutch, and have had chocolate harlequin in the past, really working on blue harlequin. Also want to get to more rabbit shows and keep mine in prime showing condition. And ofcourse to get OCPS formally up and running. I've got the seed bank to a record high and I think theres something in there for everyone. I think the last snag is finding somewhere to host the page, which has been done for a while now. Thanks, Sib
