Good day all - Someone has to add something to this section. I thought I'd show off my latest Roridula flower. It if from my only remaining R. gorgonias. It is doing a nice bit of growth too, but let's check that flower out! They always have such nice clear pink flowers. I was sad to lose my larger plant, and I thought this one was a goner. Then suddenly, about a month ago, it perked up and took off. Now it's looking like there is some promise again. Thanks for looking!

Gorgeous plant and flower. I read up online that roridulas are very difficult to cultivate so big Thumbs up to you for producing such a fine plant!

Thanks for all the kind comments! Hi Lloyd - I'm sorry to hear yours didn't come up. I've had good luck using smoke disks, and letting them get a bit of frost. I don't know when you tried, but I would never give it a go unless it was autumn. Salut Shogg - I got a couple seeds, but the plant was declining by then, and they didn't look so great. They were shriveled and only about a quarter the size they should have been. I'm going to hope for better results this time. I'm not sure why my other plant died, and this one was okay. I would have guessed on it going the other way. I haven't quite figured out this critters yet. Maybe someday. Hi Justin - You should give them a go. They would likely grow outside for you for most of the year. You might have to take them in during the coolest periods, but I'll bet you could have some great plants.

Very beautiful, well done! Have you tried fertilizing with Pameridea roridulae droppings?

Hi all - So my Roridula plant has been blooming for over a year solidly now! Here is another shot of a flower from today: This little thing is crazy! I think I am going to have to land some more seeds. I want crop of these things. This plant is rapidly moving up my list of awesomeness. I could do with 4 to 5 more of them. Has anyone else grown many of these? Do they always flower non-stop?

I got my seed to germinate in T/C very easy ,but natural was some what harder to do, i soaked my seed in 350 to 400 ppm GA3 , then sowed seed, then pored over the potting mix with seed in wood ash water , several times for a few weeks and up it come , may be more may pop up now its spring here too i can only hope.

Nice job Apoplast !
Mine did not bloom yet but it is growing again after I repotted it. I asume I had kill it but a new stalk is sending leave so it seem alright.
I repotted it because like 2/3 of the plant didn't have leaf anymore. There was only a small bush at the top and didn't like it so I put it in a deeper pot. Do you repotted yours yet ?

Hi Lloyd - Sorry to hear that! How did you treat them?
Salut Shogg - Sounds like you are doing well! I've not re-potted mine. I surface germinated my plants, and then I transferred them to larger pots once I they sprouted. This one has been in the same pot since the original transfer. It's a 6" (do they do pot sized in metric in Canada - then 15.25cm) pot, and hasn't yet out grown it - through I've never fertilized it either. I might do in the near future though. These plants really are great! I am going to aim for a population of them. Please keep me posted on how yours is doing!
Doug had one germinate about the time this plant of mine did. I'd wanted to have a friendly competition with him to see whose pant got big faster - but unfortunately I've not seen him here in a while (I hope he is well).
