I can't remember if we've mentioned this before. Has anybody noticed how great the pitchers smell? I was moving my microbogs around on a sunny, warm and humid day and the smell of the flava pitchers was fantastic, like a honey-floral smell. Really rich and sweet. The plainer and greener pitchers had a stronger/sweeter smell than the more ornamental pitchers. Really nice. My H. nutans sometimes have a milder and similar smell.

I'll have to take a wiff of my purp once it finally opens up it's pitchers. Should be around October at the rate they're going. Any difference in prey around the stronger smelling plants?

It makes sense that the pitchers have a sweet smell. Maybe that is what attracts all the wasps to visit. Will have to have a sniff next time I notice a sunny warm day here.
