G'day. I was fortunate to catch the final flower at its peak. It only opened for a few hours and is now firmly shut - hopefully making seeds. This flower stalk is about 8" and is leaning horizontally. In some other shots you can see clearly how it came to rest on an adjacent vase and thus supported, started growing vertically again! The lower pods are fattening up nicely and I'm hoping for seeds from this plant - easy grower and greedy feeder! The full album is here with pics taken at different times today. I hope they uploaded chronologically.

Beautiful. I have some of these germinating at the moment. I really love growing from seed whenever possible or practical.

Thanks! That's the true addiction setting in, when you grow from seed. Feeling it myself now too when I look at those pods ripening...

I started the bulk of my home gardening from seed about 6 years ago and I haven't turned back. I mainly use 3 tiered FloraLight setups from Lee Valley (I probably should have just made my own cabinets) and I back them with reflective mylar and have magnetic mylar panels to access the plants distilleryimage3.ak.instagram.com/3c0510f0b8de11e38dac129a914a2d2f_8.jpgThis has really worked well for me as I can adjust humidity and temperature and ventilation to a certain extent on each level. There's just something about seed growing that's really rewarding, if not at times very frustrating. Now I just need to find a way to house more plants/setups lol. I have considered getting one of the community garden plots on Leslie street in Toronto. It's pretty cool you can rent a 15'x10' plot on a yearly basis.

I've McGyvered something similar from a 4-tier Cdn wire rack and 2 different fixtures - 1X 4' T5HO and 2X 5' T8 growlux (or something similar).
Where did you get those 2 boxes in which you have your pots and misting bottles?

Those are IKEA Socker mini greenhouses www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/70186603/ I bought them last year for about $16 a piece, it looks like they raised the price. They have little hatches on top that prop open. I am in the process of outfitting them with some lighting, I think I will need 4 led strips at least... or a 16" fluorescent fixture would be best, but I haven't found any yet I will definitely go the McGuyver route in the future.

There's a new T5HO fixture that is 18" and includes a reflector. Might fit? GrowItAll has them and I reckon most other hydro supply stores would as well.

17.25 is the best it can do but you could always cut the polycarbonate plastic "glass" and rest the edge on that, might work well for mounting. I think Home Depot had something in 17" 8 watt t5, but the HO would be better. Whatever you grow in there has to be fairly short (6-7" tops) but maybe some pings or drosera would look a treat in there.
