While recently feeding my VFT, I noticed a few on my sharks teeth. I want to nip this in the bud so to speek! How do I kill these little demonds! I want them all dead before they can spread, but I don't want to hurt my VFT. Any suggestions? Thanks, Sib

Hi Sib , I had that same problem on my traps at one time , I used a pyrethrin product in a spray can(from Canadian tire) , placed the plants in a plastic bag sprayed it and sealed the bag up for a day , It worked , But if its really bad , other products that are safe for the plants are Kelthain , orthene , (commercial) more safe products are neem oil it repels the mites And a good way of detecting and counting the numbers of spider mites , is to pick a leaf and gently heat it with a lighter , the mites will start moving around very quickly, it'll give you an idea of how bad your problem might be , and how well your extermination worked . ( I took care of almost an acre of roses ,I nightmares of these little beasties ) later

I wonder if there is some sort of recipe for using crysanthemums to extract the Pyrethrum (Pyrethyn).

Thanks for the help, I just was afraid to use just anything as cp's don't like alot of chemicals. So your nightmares are of mites? Mine are of japanese beetles on roses and canas! Thanks, Sib
