Yup, when I plant sarracenia seeds usually I start them indoors and skip the first dormancy (or first two). They do best out doors so remember when you do introduce them, slowly get them used to there new climate. When they are out side all you have to do is sit back and watch as innocent bugs fall to there doom I hope this helps bud!! Good luck with the seeds, soon enough you'll be up to your knees in hungry pitchers

Ohh one more thing! If you haven't already, remember to give the seeds a cold stratification. Chop up some sphagnum and lay the seeds on top. Dampen the mix with some purified water but don't waterlog em! I then put the pot in a plastic bag in a cold environment. I like to keep them like this for roughly five weeks! I don't think I'm missing anything but if I am hopefully another member will jump in and add something. good luck and have fun!

Cool iv read alot about people skipping first couple dormancys with vft s but nothing about seresenias. Thanks for the reminder on th cold strat iv done alot of reading on the sowing of the seed on forums /webpages. I like doing alot of research before i try anything. Is there a species that doesnt need a length dormancy? I live in bc. So they should be easy to overwinter outdoor. Since people in ontario overwonter easily. Doesnt get nearly as cold here we dont get the snow fall tho .... And transition from under my light to out side takes a bit burnt a few orchids just putting them in a bright spot outside when there used to my lights

I think lane basically covered it. Treating with GA3 works too instead of cold strat.

GA3 eh!? I wonder if we have any at work. I know we have growth regulators but not sure about growth hormones.

I have a small amount of GA3 from Rare Exotic Seeds that I haven't touched in a few years if anyone wants to try it.

How much and how much? (Quantity and value) I bought 1g (maybe 1/2 tsp) and used very little of it. You only need a few mg to mix a batch. I think Lloyd posted the dilution rates in a thread here somewhere. No charge and it will mail in a standard envelope. PM me your address.

Is GA3 only used for the plants that require dormancy, or can it also be used to speed up the rate of germination with plants? Can it be beneficial for speeding up germination on some species such as Tuberous sundews?

Hey lane, nice to see you here And yes, you can use gibberellins with all your cps seeds, the germination rate and speed will be increased but you have to use the right concentration. Some species respond poorly.
