Hi gang,
I realized I haven't posted a single picture since the first time I received plants and made a setup.
My collection and the plants I've received have grown so much, I thought it was well worth posting some update pictures .
Here goes! 35+ pictures!
Current setup:
Top - Ping/ Dew
Bot right - Lowlanders
Bot left - Intermediate/ Highlanders
Pings
Pirouette
'Tina'
Moranensis
Emarginata x Esseriana
The bright light made the details impossible to capture..(Using a camcoder/camera hybrd...)
Second Moranensis
'Weser'
Darker than it looks irl
Second Pirouette, also more red irl
(Or maybe it's because these pictures are about 3 days old..)
--------Lowlanders
U. Humboldtii sending out new rolons
U. Nephrophylla only sending out sand-sized leaves, so I later put a translucent screen over them.
U. Calycifida taking over the pot with huge daily noticable changes.
Although not much veins. Having a hard time trying to control the light intake, for now I have them uncovered, with no burns yet.
G. Lobata x Violacea that sent out leaves about 5 times bigger after I put a screen over them.
Wonder if I should start slowly removing the screen?
Typical VFT from Sheridan eating
The plant
They're coloring up extremely nicely to the point where red streaks appear on the outside, along the teeth rim.
Here's the plant about 2 months ago, fresh out of Sheridan.
I wonder if it's grown to be any different?
(You can still see about 3 leaves still not dying for 2 months)
D. Anglica 'Hawaii'
Sometimes I get urges to try and taste the dews...
I planted the Anglicas in an undrained plastic containder with shallow soil for a test, and it seems like the moss that came with it is really thriving compared to other pots that have only a few strands of these.
Can't wait until a few months later, where the moss'll cover the soil.
N. Albomarginata 'red'.
The only pot with thriving Sphagnum.
The Sphagnum goes well with the Albo, as they've got streaks of pinkish red on the tip of their strands and the growth point.
The pitcher on a young growth point almost looks translucent..
Unopened pitcher with fluid (Now opened)
N. Gracillis making huge pitchers for its rosette size.
Thought I had a problem with light amount, but it adjusted very quickly.
My favourite in the collection, N. Ramispina.
Most recent, biggest pitcher. A bit bigger than the one it first had when it came.
Stressed, smaller pitcher that opened at exactly the same time as the one above.
Pitcher that first opened after repotting, about half the size of the most recent.
It's pretty cute.
And one of my recently adopted kittens, Enchyo.
I also thought posting update pictures was the polite thing to do for the people that sent the plants to me.
They would surely want to know whether I've murdered the plants or not haha
Hope your computer didn't lag!
And as always,
Have a nice day.
Ray.
