Good day, everyone!
I just biked today to Greenbirds Electronic Solutions today to pick up my order of 2 T5HOs with a fixture.
It was raining, but it was worth the trip.
Complete with lights, I've finished my first setup.
All of the surroundings and reflectors have been DIY'd by me with cardboard boxes and tin foil.
Pic heavy!
Now for the plants!
N. Gracilis. As its pitchers and leaves started to brown, I thought it was going downhill, but since the tips are growing, I'll hope it was just an acclimatization stress.
N. Albomarginata 'red'. Slow growth, but no dying leaves or pitchers.
D. Intermedia ' Gran Sabana' on the left and D. Affinis 'Namibia' on the right.
The little amount of dews on D. Affinis.
Sphagnum plate growing slowly but surely.
D. Anglica 'Hawaii' sending out new growth after short stun.
G. Lobata x Violacea sending out new leaves.
P. 'Tina' on the left and P. Moranensis on the right.
A typical Sheridan VFT with 2 traps busy digesting.
That's all the photos I have for now, as my collection isn't very big. Yet.
When I get my highland setup with the same materials plus fans and a fogger, I'm planning to buy some neps and helis from HB and the new Keehns.
This lowland setup has its temperature constantly at around 30's or high 20's. This is coming from an oil thermometer, so I'm not sure how accurate it is...
Heat source is from a mini zoo med heatpad at the back, and the lights. (The heatpad barely helps, though).
The humidity seems high enough, as the plastic walls get covered in water droplets, making it almost impossible to look inside.
Lights are about 6-7 inches or so from the plants, but it differs for all of them as their pots differ in height.
(2 T5HO 6500k bulb with 2ft fixture.)
If anyone has suggestions on how to improve this setup, please share them with me as I'm pretty much still a noob in CP cultivation.
Many thanks goes to Bonfield, who supplied me with all the plants above except the VFT.
To Lloyd, who suggested Greenbird and light types for me. Greenbird had really friendly service, and I will be using them again later.
And to 31drew31 for indirectly showing me the awesome cheap humidity/ propagation dome and its location, growitall.
Cheers,
Ray.
