P. moctezumae x gypsicola from Bonfield. A unique shape for a ping. P. species "Guatemala". from BCP. I got this because I visited the town near which they're found. Nice round form of P. moranensis with some pink. Looks like it's going into its winter phase already. The leaves are unusually small for a moranensis, though. P. ehlersiae. Not new, coaxed along from leaf pullings with great difficulty and finally have reached an adult form at 2-1/2 years old. P. zecheri from BCP. It flowered when I was away. I'll try to get a flower shot if it blooms again. P. hemiepiphytica from BCP.

Nice plants Hal,
The guatemala looks really nice in it's winter form.
I find it funny how our plants didn't look the same even if they come from the same place.

I find pings really change their forms over their lifespans. A clone from a leaf pulling looks nothing like the mother plant, and even plants propagated at the same time can look different. Especially the different varieties of moranensis. Forget to tag one of them and a few months later you have no idea which one it is!

Hi Hal - Well, I was going to say how much I like the leaf shape of your P. zecheri, but after your last comment, I feel a bit silly saying it. Plus, I like the deep venation on the P. hemiepiphytica, but it sounds like that should't be a reason for me to get one. Still, they are cool looking plants!

Thanks. I think the hemiepiphytica is supposed to look quite different when it grows up, judging by the photos at pinguicula.org!

Great Pings Hal! My hemiepiphytica looks similar to yours, just a little more red. Mine is also from BCP.

Nice pings you're growing there hal. Interesting the way the same pings can differ in appearance in other's collections. Here is a pic of my P. hemiepiphytica BCP-461 that i received from BCP in August of last year. This is probably my palest mexi-ping, showing ghostly white/pale green leaves with just a blush of pink, darkening slightly as it approaches the upturned leaf margins. dvg

Mine are BCP 461 as well, and I got them last October. Let's see if they develop those pale, round, upturned leaves. Otherwise we'll have to declare them a new species. P. ocpiforumus, maybe?
